Day 32 - Back to the hospital we go...

Friday 25 June
Pain wasn’t too bad this morning.  Woke up to a quiet house.  Dan had already left with our girls to school.  I tidied up the house before the nurse came and received a call from Dr Ryan that I have my MRI scheduled for 12pm.  Organised for Del to pick me up after my nurse visit.

Went into the radiology to have another MRI scan to show progress etc.  Waited for 1 ½ hours with a huge headache.  Tried to just sleep while waiting.  Finally went in and then waited some more within the MRI room.  Finally got called to have the scan.  Tried not to think about the small space I would be going through.  This time I requested Reggae music which was a lot better.

Even after the scan I felt so sick.  I felt like I wanted to vomit and had a huge migraine.  Mum picked me up from the hospital and we stopped by their place and picked up Nia.  My poor bubba.  We went home and I lay in bed.  Sweating with a huge headache my poor bubba would come into the room and tell me what she is doing.  She answered all the calls.  I love my daughter Bethany.  I miss her so much and Zemira.  The doctor called in the afternoon advising that from the scan they discovered an infection in my spine and I need to go back into hospital.  So Dan prepared Nia and Mum came back and picked her up.  My poor babys, I haven’t seen much of them even while being at home.

An orthopaedic specialist described to me what was going on and ran some tests and have given me a new antibiotic that is apparently really strong and can cause kidney problems. I’ve had a few naps and now waiting for them to transfer me to the ward.

It’s midnight and now I’m in my new ward trying to have a conversation with Dan but falling asleep.  I can hear one of my roomy’s crying.  Poor thing she feels really uncomfortable.  I’m glad now that the nurses understand the importance of getting on top of the pain relief and are now giving me more.
