Day 6 to 13: Discharged from the hospital and my Dad's in town....

Sunday 30 May 2010
I was discharged early in the morning.  The specialist arrived to say that I didn’t need to have a CT scan.  They were confident that I would recover with the medication I was on already.  But if the pain persists come back in.  Something I would hear a few times more over the next week.

So my Dad arrived today which was really nice.  Dan picked him up after work.  The pain persisted throughout the week.

Tuesday 2 – Thursday 3 June 2010
Dad has been busy doing things around the house.  I am so blessed that my dad can do so much outdoors for someone his age and his disability.  It encourages me to continue doing the best and the most with my life with what I have.

All week the pain would come and go.  It seemed a lot stronger in the morning.  I felt that things were getting better.  I wondered how I would do things without Dan being around.  It’s great having Dad around but at the same time it’s been difficult because I still need to do everything around the house.  Taking care of my girls and my dad.  Though Dad helps where he can.  I walked into the lounge after having a long nap and found the cushions were on the floor, books and colouring pencils were everywhere, the girls in front of the TV, and my dad is crashed out on the couch.

It is true what they say about grandparents having a special kind of love for their grandchildren.  It’s almost like loving them like they were their own but giving them everything they never could with their own children.  So out pops the chocolate biscuits, the lollies, the McDonalds feeds.  Oh goodness.

Friday – Sunday 6 June 2010
The weekend seemed okay.  I spent a lot of time with my girls which I really treasured.  We had a great time at the local markets.  My girls have been so well behaved.  I finished my assignment at 4 in the morning and my girls allowed me to sleep in for a couple of hours.  They had dressed themselves, ate breakfast and brushed their teeth.  They are so good and well behaved.
